Synergy Texas is a volunteer-led movement developed in the fall of 2021 by Texas adult educators who serve as immigrant advocates. The aim of Synergy Texas is to address the academic and employment barriers faced by skilled immigrants in Texas. Our mission is complex – to develop and provide resources for foreign-degreed individuals to maximize their career potential in the U.S. in alignment with their international academic achievement. Synergy Texas consists of volunteer Adult Education & Literacy (AEL) providers working together to make immigrant integration achievable.

Mission

Our mission is to empower immigrant-serving entities with the resources or contacts required to push the needle forward in language advancement, credentialing services, professional development, and employer engagement to strengthen students’ pathway to economic inclusion in Texas.

Vision

We envision a Texas in which all internationally trained professionals are thriving economically.

Goals

Ultimately, our goal is that Synergy Texas will increase opportunities for all internationally trained professionals, whether they are from small, rural communities or large, urban centers across the state of Texas.

The Synergy Texas approach is to empower and train ITP providers across the state with best practices and mentoring, facilitate and lead collaborative multi-sector partnerships in regions across the state, and elevate the visibility of students skills and experience through a statewide conference and ongoing conversation that can help to strengthen economic inclusion in Texas.

Our initiative will be a model of how the unification of affiliations creates a structure where no individual immigrant-serving entity lacks the resources or contacts required to push the needle forward in language advancement, credentialing services, professional development, and employer engagement.
